About US
‘Darmok’ gives us one vision of a future in which procedural rhetoric takes precedence over verbal and visual rhetoric, indeed in which the logic of logics subsume the logics of description, appearances, and even of narrative … Perhaps one day we will learn this lesson of the Tamarians: that understanding how the world works is a more promising approach to intervention within it than mere description or depiction.

Expertise You Can Trust
Dani Nuchereno
Dani Nuchereno has a passport filled with stamps and a resume just as diverse. From the sleepy streets of Kagoshima, Japan to the industrial landscape of Koblenz, Germany, to customer experience at a popular online dating site in New York City, Dani has built a career on a foundation of translation both literal and figurative.
In Buffalo, she was Vice President of Operations at a local Managed IT Services company where she implemented the Entrepreneurial Operating System, built a compliance program spanning HIPAA, NIST 800-171, and PCI, and managed a diverse team. She is a CISSP – an ISC2 certified security professional – and an EOS Worldwide Integrator Masterclass graduate.
Dani holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Extension Studies from Harvard University, where she blended a concentration in Humanities with a minor in Computer Science. She also earned a Certificate in Professional Communications from the Harvard Division of Continuing Education.
She now serves as a Teaching Assistant for public speaking and professional communication courses at Harvard Extension School. She also provides instructional design and executive education support for Harvard’s Professional & Executive Development Program, analyzing learner data and designing presentation suites for multiple programs.
The through-line of Dani’s career is translation between technology and the people who use it, data and the decisions it should drive. It’s the same instinct that drives her life outside consulting – Dani is a fiction writer (writingbydani.com) and a longtime builder of creative and professional communities, including co-founding Women Lead Buffalo.
At the core of Darmok Consulting, inspired by Star Trek‘s iconic episode, is Dani’s belief in the power of shared narratives. Darmok was founded on the idea that understanding how something works (a business, team, audience, anything) is the first step to changing it for the better.
